This will be the page for TV shows, Anime, and Asian Dramas from both Korea and Japan.

Here I’ll put…

Dramas: …a list of all the Asian Dramas I’ve watched. (note: I’ve VERY upset b/c I wrote a short review for each Drama and after hitting the “Update Page” button it all VANISHED. Remember kids, (CTRL+V is your best friend, OK? Don’t be like me and –>T_T )

Anime: …a list of all the Anime Series I’ve finished.

TV Series: …what I’m currently watching on the tube as well as on DVD. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Dramas:

Save the Last Dance for Me (Kn) watched July 2009 – ****

Full House (Kn) – watched June 2009 – ***

I Really, Really Like You (Kn) – started 2009, finished May 2010 – ****

The Grand Chef (aka: Gourmet) (Kn) – in progress…delayed

The Snow Queen (Kn) – *****

1 Litre of Tears (Jp) – *****

Sad Love Story (Kn) – ****

To Marry a Millionaire (Kn) – ***

Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang (Kn) – ****

Taiyou no Uta – A Song to The Sun (Jp) – *****

Stairway to Heaven (Kn) – *****

My Lovely Sam-Soon (Kn) – *****

Anime:

Samurai Champloo – watched  early 2010 – ***** – From the creative mind of Shinichirō Watanabe (the creator of Cowboy Bebop) comes a new anime that promises to be edgy and action-packed along with a good dose of comedy and hip-hop meddlings. As a bonus, the voice actor who did Spike in Bebop is back! Steven Blum, (credited as Daniel Andrews) is voicing Mugen this time around. Oh yeah!

So how was it, you ask? AH-MAY-ZIN-GA! Enough said.  ( ^   O   ^ )
It’s so damn great I’m going to buy it on DVD!

Darker Than Black – watched early 2010 – ** – Learned about this anime from my favorite band HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR doing an intro song for them. I can rent this too. We’ll see how good it is. :)

Finished this. Although it started out very interesting, it lost focus and ended up being dull. That’s too bad. :/

Ranma 1/2
(Ranma Nibun no Ichi, らんま½) – Finished Season 1/7 – Dara has this one on her bookshelf and says it’s pretty good. I’m going to give her DVD a try and see how I like it.

FLCL (Furi Kuri, フリクリ) – ** – I heard people praise this anime, so I rented it from the video store… and after watching it all I can say is… WTC?! Read my full review HERE.

BLEACH – *** – I truly action-packed anime. Gotta love the characters and great fights. Only down side is that the story arcs tend to drag on for frappin’ ever and the side-story arcs can be kinda odd and a little boring. (I was watching them with English subtitles. Left off around eps 115?)

I’m not sure if I’ll ever bother to finish this one.

Full Metal Alchemist – ***** – THE most amazing anime I’ve ever seen. Truly remarkable and uplifting. The storyline and characters are EPIC. Enough said. :P

* Hope to get my girlfriend to watch this soon!

UPDATE! – A second coming of FMA is scheduled for release in Japan THIS year! OMG! Can’t wait to get my grubby paws on he next saga of this amazing anime!

Inu Yasha – _***** – Finished Season 3/7 – Most otaku’s would clam it’s “too cliche” and “blah blah blah” but, as my first jump into larger than life anime series go, Inu Yasha is a real winner with stunning great characters and a compelling storyline. Besides, Rumiko Takahashi also did Ranma 1/2 which proves she’s AWESOME. So to all you otaku nay-sayers can KISS MY FAT HAIRY WHITE ASS!!!

(sadly, I’ve only seen the first 3 seasons [54 eps] and 3 films)

Chobits – **** – Quite the comedy; the anime is full of crayz + cuteness. Also, “Hideki!” and underpants. =D

Arc the Lad – ** – About as good as the games… not so good. Plus, it’s disturbing and sad. :/

Love Hina – **** – A friend of mine got me into this at one point but I was never able to finish it. From what a did see though, this anime is a better version of Tenhi Muyo it terms on comedy and characters (Also, it’s only 26 eps so it doesn’t drag on and on forever).

UPDATE! – 14Feb2010 – Rented the series from Blockbuster and, though my girlfriend isn’t going to watch with me, I’m determined to finish it this time! >:D

Funny, yet predictable, this anime was a crazy-good time!

TRIGUN – **** – My third fav. This anime is really great. It’s funny and full of action! Including, morals. “Love, and, PEEEEACE!!!”

Cowboy Bebop – ***** – My 2nd fav and first anime I ever saw and really loved. I love everything about this anime! It’s comical with great action scenes. And although it has a heavy dramatic overtone, Bebop never takes itself too seriously. Hands down, one of the very best anime ever made.

Future Anime:

???

TV Series:

Smallville – ***** – Watching Season 9 – Smallville was the first great big American TV series that I REALLY fell into. It has an amazing cast of characters following through an ever-growingly complex storyline about the younger years of Superman (of whom I’ve never seen any of the films or read any comics about). Though the show is more drama than action, its presentation is top-notch and will have you laughing, tearing, cheering, and begging for just one more disc. By far my favorite show! ^___^

LOST – ***** – FINISHED complete series – This is one ofLOST 6th and FINAL Season the best shows I’ve ever seen. My girlfriend got me into this late 2008 and I was shocked that I had missed this on TV!
The show is really something and I’m so glad to be able to sink my teeth into it. Love it!
LOST was a truly beautiful experience. This is by far the most impressive TV series to ever grace my TV. Thank You! to all the cast, crew, and everyone else who made this show a reality!

Everybody Loves Raymond – ***** – Finished Season 8 – My favorite old comedy show. My girlfriend loves it too and we’ve both seen through Season 8. My mom also loves it and has seen them ALL, lol. Need to get Season 9.

TrueBlood – **** – Finished Season 1 – An HBO series that Dara has borrowed on DVD. The show stars Anna Paquin of X-Men fame (Rogue), as Sookie Stackhouse – a girl living in the small Louisianan town of Bon Temps. Vampires have just recently come “out of the casket” and are trying to get along with humans. The show is quite interesting, though graphic at times with scenes of sex and/or violence. The creepy + hick atmosphere of the show is something different for me.

As far as vampire fiction goes, I’ve never rally paid much attention to it. I’ve seen Chinese film The Vampire Effect (aka: The Twins Effect, with Jackie Chan and Edison Chen. There’s also a sequel I haven’t seen.) and Japanese Moon Child (starring Gackt and Hyde), as well as the first Twilight film, and now this. So my vampire knowledge is light.

We’ll see how this goes!

HEROES

HEROES – **** – Stopped after Season 2 – Dara and I picked up the first two seasons of this interesting show on sale at Best Buy. We haven’t started them yet though I have seen the first 10 eps of season 1 on a friend’s computer last year. As I said before: interesting.

30ROCK

30ROCK– *** –  Finished Season 2 – I thought this show was pretty darn funny over the first season. I borrowed the DVD from Dara. We just picked up the second season but, it may be a while before we watch it.

Arrested Development – **** – Finished Season 2 – Hahaha. Yeps. Thanks to this show, I know a little more about “crazy”. Also, I see these actors a lot in feature films now. You gotta love Jason Bateman and Michael Cera, plus Will Arnett and David Cross. :)

>> post pic here <<

Mythbusters – ***** – Finished Collection 4 – I LOVE this show and turned Dara onto it (now she loves it too!). I stumbled upon the brilliance that it this show many years ago, but never thought about collections on DVD before seeing them in Blockbuster. Man, I LOVE Blockbuster as well. hehe

>> post pic here <<

The Mentalist – began on TV 2008 – **** – Waiting to watch Season 1 – Know here’s a show with a strong lead actor and supporting cast. Simon Baker and his mischievously brilliant ways inject so much life into the show. Without him, I wonder if it would be worth watching?  (Probably not.)

>> post pic here <<

Breaking Bad – began Nov. 2010 – _*** – Renting this show from Blockbuster due to several friend’s recommendations. The storyline is interesting and unlike any other show I’ve watched. Looking forward to watching more.

haha. So your bf doesn’t like Koreans, or just dramas? :P

Ok. I’ll add your recommendations to my queue. Dara and I haven’t been DL’d any dramas since Vega started sending them to us.

Actually, I’m not sure if it was for Dara’s B-day or not but… he sent us a small box with 3 dramas in it! :o

      Sweet Spy
      Cinderella Man
      2 Outs, 9th Inning

We’ve been too busy watching American shows to touch them.

We also have New Heart, though Dara lost a disc so…
